Home Federal Bank of Tennessee and YWCA Awarded Community Partnership Award

January 10, 2025

In Tennessee, FHLB's Community Partnership Award (CPA) was awarded to Home Federal Bank of Tennessee for their long-time financial support of the YWCA Knoxville & the Tennessee Valley. The only program of its kind in East Tennessee, YWCA’s Jenny Boyd Keys of Hope Program (KOH) provides affordable, safe and supportive housing for at-risk women seeking to achieve independent living within the community. Residents have access to monthly programming to encourage goal planning, career advancement, self-care, budgeting and permanent housing.

The CPA program awards three FHLB Cincinnati members a $5,000 grant to benefit a nonprofit organization or community initiative. The awards are required to support one or more four core focus areas: affordable housing, economic development, education and wellness. Home Federal Bank of Tennessee and YWCA will use the grant to provide critical support and help fund direct services for KOH clients.

“The YWCA has been Home Federal Bank’s next-door neighbor for over 70 years. We are consistently one of the largest mortgage lenders in our community,” said David Reynolds, president and CEO of Home Federal Bank of Tennessee. “As such, we appreciate that the Community Partnership Award funds given by the FHLB Cincinnati further leverage the YWCA’s service to women in providing affordable housing in a safe environment coupled with supportive services.”

Since 1899, YWCA Knoxville & the Tennessee Valley has been a leading force in community change. With a mission to eliminate racism, empower women and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all, YWCA offers a variety of resources and services for women and their families. Today, YWCA serves more than 11,300 individuals at three sites in downtown Knoxville, East Knoxville and Oak Ridge; and provides services across a six-county service area (Knox, Anderson, Roane, Loudon, Blount and Sevier).

"The Community Partnership Award funds will go directly to our KOH program to empower women in our community to rebuild their lives, achieve stability and unlock brighter futures,” said Natalie Stair, Interim CEO of YWCA.” We would not be able to make the impact we are without the support of wonderful partners like Home Federal Bank of Tennessee.”

Congratulations to Home Federal Bank of Tennessee and YWCA on this award, and we look forward to continuing to see their partnership prosper.
