Park Village Reopens With Help From FHLB Cincinnati AHP Grant
Shelby’s Park Village, an affordable housing community for seniors and disabled individuals, recently completed a $16 million renovation project, enhancing its 128 one- and two-bedroom apartments to “like new” status. The Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati supported the project with a $1 million Affordable Housing Program grant awarded to members RiverHills Bank and Heritage Bank for the benefit of the National Church Residences of Shelby. The grant supported 80 of the units that were preserved as rental assistance eligible.
Located in Ohio, the project’s extensive updates include improved living spaces, a modernized laundry facility, arts and crafts area, fitness room, community kitchen, lounge and a scenic outdoor walking path with a community garden. In addition to boosting the quality of life for residents, the energy-efficient and sustainable upgrades have positioned Park Village to achieve Enterprise Green certification.
